Podrivači BPT

As a consequence of frequent and numerous machine passing through the orchard, the so-called eugley soil layers (firmly compacted soil) emerge in the root system zone, keeping practically the root system isolated from moisture, air and nutrients. The occasional breaking up of these layers is extremely important for an uninterrupted orchard development, which is most efficiently achieved by subsoiling. Subsoiling is best conducted in the period between August 15 and the end of September, and if the weather conditions allow so, it can be also conducted during first half of October. The optimal subsoiling depth is between 40 and 60cm.

Frame width, number of transverse beams, their arrangement as well as the number of installed operating bodies are completely arbitrary. They depend on the aim that we would like to achieve, soil structure and tractor power.

Generally, subsoiling in agriculture is conducted when we want to establish the more favourable air-water regime in deeper layers. It is particularly important to use subsoilers instead of ploughs if the ploughed layer is shallower, because as opposed to ploughs, subsoilers do not turn the soil over. Furthermore, we exclusively conduct subsoiling in case the soil analyses show the excess of calcium in deeper layers.
